lgbtqi+ sensitive
For people from the rainbowcommunity it can be harder to find help that sufficiently matches your history. Lgbtqi+ people have had negative experiences more often. That may lead to traumatization, compensatory behavior, loneliness, problems in intimacy and difficulty in building a life based on your own values.
At the Rainbow practice we believe mental health care should be open to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or lifestyle. We are an lgbtqi+ friendly psychology practice where inclusivity and respect are key. Your story will be heard here, without judgment and with the right expertise. In a warm non-judgmental environment you are safe and welcome to be yourself. We have in-depth knowledge of the challenges the lgbtqi+ community can face. This means that we understand your unique experiences and can provide what you need. We embrace diversity in all its forms. Whether you identify as lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, non-binary or in any other way, wether your sexuality is regular or exotic: your identity and experience are central to our approach.

gender sensitive
Within the lgbtqi+ community there are a number of groups that have an increased risk of feeling depressed or even tired of life. One of them is the trans community. Transphobia, barriers in healthcare, and small and large traumas in your self-discovery and coming out have piled up. Somewhere inside you wrongly started to believe that maybe they were right. Even after successful gender-affirming treatment, this can prevent you from achieving the gender expression and life you want.

sexually sensitive
During the period you develop your sexuality, you may have become strongly inhibited. Fetish, BDSM and untethered sex can be very beneficial ways to let go of those inhibitions. At the same time, there may still be feelings of shame. You may have difficulty initiating actual intimacy or your behavior may develop into an addiction to sex and/or substances that yield less and less. There is nothing wrong with sex or kink and substance use is not necessarily a problem. Kink can even be very healing. Nevertheless some people get stuck in it.
